Woodbury's Garden Center, a part of Country 3 Corners in Weare, New Hampshire is named in honor of Jesse Woodbury and all the merchants and traders who have lived and worked this historic location. Jesse Woodbury was one of the first merchants to ply his trade in town. According to the 1888 history of Weare, after serving in the Revolutionary War, he began "the first store at the crossroads" in South Weare in 1789. The crossroads of Routes 114, 77 and 149 have been an important intersection for commerce ever since. At Woodbury's Garden Center, we feel it is important to honor our roots at the crossroads, especially since those roots run over 200 years deep! The faces and even the buildings have changed many times through the years, but the spirit of connection, commerce and community remains. |
